Y Talbot is an historic and characterful Grade ii listed inn facing the town square in the centre of Tregaron, Ceredigion.
The characterful pub, dating back to at least the 17th Century, owes its origins to Tregaron being the starting point for cattle droving over the Cambrian mountains to the Midlands and Smithfield Market in London.
All the 9 superior rooms offer free Wi-Fi, tea, cafetière, homemade biscuits and Tŷ Nant spring water. The generous bathrooms have torrents of piping hot water in the sumptuous walk in showers. Arresting art and photography, Welsh wool blanket and original features provide attractive decoration. Being a Grade ii listed building means that the rooms are not uniform in layout but the same craftsmanship underpins them all.
The same price is offered to dine from the same menu at both pub and restaurant but offer two distinct dining experiences to the guests. Head Chef Dafydd trained with Marco Pierre White and was Premier Sous Chef at The Ritz before coming to Y Talbot in 2010. Dafydd is passionate about preparing excellent quality food and that commitment to quality underpins all the dishes on the menu.
