Shakespeare’s Globe Guided Tour explores the life of Shakespeare, the London where he lived, and the theatre for which he wrote. Find out about extravagant Elizabethan costumes, Renaissance instruments and how they were used, and the dramatic stories of the first Globe crossing the Thames, and the new Globe being reconstructed on Bankside.
Throughout the year, a fascinating guided tour of the Globe Theatre is included in your visit to Shakespeare’s Globe. Let one of our guides bring this extraordinary space to life.
Shared Tours begin every 15-30 minutes during opening hours.
The inclusion of a Sparkling Afternoon Tea now adds superb added value to an already essential inclusion. Tea is taken in the Swan Restaurant & Bar, a wonderful British restaurant next to the Globe Theatre with fabulous views overlooking the River Thames. It is an excellent choice in its own right serving modern British cuisine in an exclusive location.
The current afternoon tea is themed around “Midsummer Nights Dream” and comprises of a selection of sandwiches, dessert cakes and freshly baked scones, clotted cream and jam – all with a unique Shakespearean twist.
Please note that during the Theatre Season (April until October) Globe Tours are only available in the mornings, except for Monday when there are Globe Tours all day.
Serving times: *updates for 2020*
Afternoon Tea is served Monday-Saturday (13.00 hrs) and on Sundays (12.00 hrs)
The Suggested Guided Tour time is MONDAY-SATURDAY at 12.00 hrs (1 hour) followed by the afternoon tea.
On SUNDAYS, there are usually dress rehearsals taking place so the last guided tour of the day is earlier at 11.00 hrs.
