Greenwich Royal Tours was established in the same year as the London Olympics: 2012. They started with one Greenwich tour and one guide. They now offer some ten tours with four exceptional tour guides. Their guides have been a key part of their success. Full Day Walking Tour
Welcome to their new Greenwich Peninsula Day Tour. You meet at the Peninsula Spire located just outside the North Greenwich Tube station. You start your tour by boarding the spectacular Thames Gondola ride across the River Thames, with its breath-taking views of the 02.
Then take a short walk up to Trinity Buoy Wharf, home to London’s only lighthouse, built in 1864. It was originally used to train lighthouse keepers, but the Wharf is home now to artists’ workspaces, event spaces as well as the amazing Container City. This is also where scientist Michael Faraday carried out his ground-breaking optical experiments.
Pause here for a well-deserved coffee break on the Wharf, before returning to the Peninsula via the Gondola. Explore the Design District with its very original architecture. Time for lunch. Afterwards, you circumnavigate the world-famous Millenium Dome or 02 as Londoners now call it, stopping for more photo ops along the way. You are now more than ready to walk down to the Meantime Brewery where we enjoy a brief tour as well as samples of their extraordinary beers. Our tour completes here.
