DaIhousie Castle is a real magnificent 13th century fortress just 8 miles from Edinburgh’s city centre. Set within acres of wooded parkland on the picturesque banks of the River Esk, Dalhousie Castle has luxurious surrounds, and holds the title as ‘Scotland’s Oldest Inhabited Castle’.
There are 35 bedrooms in the estate. Within the castle walls we have 29 individually designed bedrooms, with soft Egyptian cotton bed linen, fluffy towels, robes, slippers and Molton Brown toiletries. These are decorated in Scottish design fabrics such as tweed, tartan and twill. Period furniture, rugs and carpets combine to create a richly warm and luxurious feel.
Guests have several dining options within the Castle. A completely unique experience is dining in the ancient barrel-vaulted dungeons; awarded 2 AA Rosettes, the menu is a modern interpretation of classic Scottish dishes cooked and prepared in a classic French cooking style, whilst using locally sourced produce.
For a more casual option with panoramic views overlooking the castle estate, The Orangery is a perfect spot to enjoy delicious food, in good company. A contemporary menu is served for lunch and dinner daily, and the very popular Afternoon Tea, available with Champagne.
Guests will also have access to The Library Bar where they can relax on the comfortable chairs, or warm up around the log fire. The waiter will appear from behind a hidden door to take your order for drinks and nibbles. Try the extensive range of whisky, beers, Laurent Perrier Champagne, or cocktails.
The Spa combines relaxing and therapeutic treatments designed to invigorate and rejuvenate your body and mind. Darphin products are used throughout the spa, selected for its unique sensuality and exquisite results.
