Escape the “hecticness” of everyday life, hang your coat up and sink into one of the cosy armchairs next to the warmth of an open log fire without a care in the world. The Bear of Rodborough is a little more than your average hotel on the side of the road.
The hotel began life in the 17th century as a former coaching inn. Set within 300 acres of land belonging to The National Trust, the beautiful landscapes and rambling hills go on as far as the eye can see, all the way to the River Severn and Wales in fact.
Home to the dog walking community and golf enthusiasts, with a course perfectly positioned in the heart of The Common, The Bear also has another special local grazing nearby. The herd of Belted Galloway’s were the first cows to ever roam The Common, and have been cherished as part of the community ever since, particularly around the 18th hole.
They’ve taken their historical ambiance and installed comfy beds, warm furnishings and hung an exciting display of vibrant artwork to provide you with an experience that’s more than just a good night’s sleep.
Walk along the original flagstone floors, unwind in the snug seclusion of one of the armchairs with a book, or take a leisurely amble up the splendid oak staircase and down the windy corridors to discover the collection of beautifully designed bedrooms.
Lie back, stretch out, and relax – why lift a finger if you don’t have to? The collection of 46 beautifully designed bedrooms each have their own individual character, and have been equipped to provide you with a relaxing invitation to take refuge and comfort in a truly unique seclusion.
Picture warm colours, sumptuous rich fabrics with a hint of quirkiness woven into their design and an eye-catching selection of antique furniture and paintings to feed your fascination. No room is the same and it’s the unique personal touches that have been subtly added to each one that helps to form their distinct personality.
You’ll find the same relaxed, stylish vibe in both the Main House and the neighbouring Country House with plenty of snug bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms to choose from. Eat, sleep, rewind and repeat at The Bear of Rodborough Hotel.
