PAINTED HALL

Known as Britain’s Sistine Chapel, the Painted Hall is an epic 18th century masterpiece of baroque art.

The Painted Hall is known as the UK’s own Sistine Chapel and it is one of the most spectacular and important baroque interiors in Europe. Its ceiling and wall decorations were conceived and executed by the British artist Sir James Thornhill between 1707 and 1726 at the pivotal moment when the United Kingdom was created and became a dominant power in Europe

Steeped in history and housed within the beautiful grounds and stunning architecture of Sir Christopher Wren’s Old Royal Naval College, the Painted Hall is the perfect place for your group to visit.
